About us
Hospice at Home West Cumbria provides palliative and end of life care to patients and their families across West Cumbria. We need to raise over £1.2 million each year to deliver these vital services which are provided FREE of charge to those who need them.
Our nurses deliver palliative and end of life care 24hrs a day, 365 days a year, providing the best possible care for people with a life-limiting illness and those who are close to them. We cover an area of 400 square miles along the Western side of Cumbria. From Maryport, down to Millom and into the Eskdale and Wasdale Valleys, covering a population of around 140,000.
We are the sole provider of specialist lymphoedema services in West Cumbria. We provide assessments, appropriate treatments and support and advice for patients, families and carers.
Our Family and Bereavement Support team support patients and their families during their most difficult of times. They offer a number of sessions, including one-to-one and group support to patients, carers and those bereaved.
Our complementary therapists offer, mindfulness, reflexology, Reiki, therapeutic massage, and breathing and relaxation techniques. Treatments are offered to patients with life limiting conditions and their loved ones. Many of our patients find Reiki to be especially beneficial in the last days of life, offering a sense of peace and calm.
